Jacksonville Florida is a city full of gorgeous views, historic areas, and tons of things to do. When planning your proposal in Jacksonville your possibilities are endless. Jacksonville has things to do and places to see for everyone. This list of the best places to propose in Jacksonville consist of outdoor locations all with beautiful views and scenery.

The Prettiest Outdoor Places To Propose In Jacksonville

Note: Some locations on this list may require permission or permits.

Cummer Museum

The Cummer Museum of Art & Gardens is located on the banks of the St. Johns River with historic art and a beautiful garden. The Cummer Museum makes for the perfect outing to ask the big question. You can start your visit inside looking at the many art pieces, and then make your way outside to the gardens. In the garden you have a nice view over the water while being surrounded by greenery and color. The gardens make a nice secluded and romantic proposal location.

Downtown Riverwalk

The Riverwalk is on the south and the north of the St. Johns River. We are going to be talking about the Southbank Riverwalk. From the Riverwalk you get a nice view of downtown, where you can see river boats and shorebirds. This area is common for couples to visit and provides a romantic walk. While there you can also visit Friendship Park which features a large fountain, or you can walk a couple blocks over to Treaty Oak Park home of an over 200 year old oak tree. Close by there are a variety of restaurants you can start or finish your outing with.

The Beaches

A list of beautiful places to propose in Jacksonville wouldn’t be complete without including the beaches. With miles of beaches, everywhere you go, from Ponte Vedra all the way up to Amelia Island, is beautiful. Finding the right time of the year and the right time of the day is key if you want an empty beach. Sunrise and sunset both make for a beautiful view and some great photos.

Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens

Proposing at the Jacksonville Zoo

The Jacksonville Zoo makes for the perfect outing, with many things to see and do. This will make for a very special day. Near the back of the zoo is a bamboo garden with a large koi pond. This is a perfect area to propose as it’s quiet and very romantic. The zoo is open all year round and is always a great place to visit.

Boneyard Beach

Big Talbot Island State Park

Boneyard Beach is a beach worth its own spot on the list. Inside of Big Talbot Island State Park, Boneyard Beach is hidden along the coast full of beautiful views and lined with driftwood trees. The driftwood that lines the coast makes for a beautiful backdrop for your proposal, while also being very romantic.
